Skill - Track 1
TheosU - Every intern selects one TheosU professional role.
This is the professional output track of the internship — the place where craft is developed, real-world projects are delivered, and a professional portfolio is built. Interns will work directly alongside the TheosU Operations and Media team, producing content for a platform with more than 6,000 subscribers across more than 55 nations.
Leadership may encourage or adjust role placement based on an intern’s growth, gifting, and the team's needs. The goal is always the intern’s development.

Graphic Design Intern
You’re a designer who thinks in systems. You know that a great carousel isn’t just a pretty slide — it’s an engagement tool, a teaching tool, and a conversion tool at once. You’re fluent in typography, you love editorial design, and you can hold “serious Christian theology” and “culturally fluent and genuinely engaging” in the same hand.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Instagram Carousels: Design 2–3 per week for @theosuniversity and cross-posted variants for @theosseminary.
- Reel Cover Thumbnails: Create covers for 5–7 Reels per week that stop the scroll.
- Story and Ephemeral Assets: Daily Story graphics, quote cards, poll frames, and event graphics.
- Brand Consistency: Support visual consistency across all TheosU Instagram accounts.
- ManyChat Creative: Design a visual library for DM-flow conversion touchpoints.
- Email and Web Graphics: Headers, banners, sale graphics, and drip-sequence visuals.
- Brand System Maintenance: Curate and extend the design system so the broader team can produce on-brand work without bottlenecking on you.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or Figma.
- Portfolio demonstrating strong typographic judgment, hierarchy, and restraint.
- Understanding of Instagram-native design specs (1:1, 4:5, 9:16).
- Ability to turn around 5+ polished assets per week once ramped.
- Affirmation of the TheosU Statement of Beliefs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Canva at a brand-systems level.
- Motion design fundamentals (After Effects, Rive, or similar).
- Familiarity with editorial design (magazines, books, long-form posters).
- Interest in Christian publishing, church branding, or Christian media.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- How to design for algorithmic platforms where a single image determines whether 50,000 people see your work or 500 do.
- How to build and ship a brand system across a multi-account ecosystem.
- How to turn theological content into visual language that reads clearly in three seconds.
- The economics of design in a subscription business.
Video Production Intern
You’re a short-form obsessive. You can watch a Reel and immediately tell why it worked — the hook, the pattern interrupt, the captioning choices, the cut at second seven. You edit fast, you edit cleanly, and you want to make work that’s theologically serious and built for the feed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Short-Form Video: Edit 5–7 Reels per week from raw footage — cuts, captions, graphics, sound design, the full post-production stack.
- Outlier Method: Identify 5x-performing content using tools like Sandcastles.ai and produce TheosU-flavored versions.
- Upcycling System: Run the upcycling calendar, re-cutting and refreshing proven winners on a 90-day cycle.
- In-Studio Production: Support B-roll shoots, teaching captures, and studio days for Nathan Finochio and guest faculty.
- Captions and Typography: Large, readable, on-brand on-screen text for every post.
- Cross-Account Coordination: Time Reel drops across brand, meme, founder, and seminary accounts.
- Performance Tracking: Track content performance over the first 90 days by hook type, topic, length, and format.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in at least one editing environment: CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro.
- A reel of short-form work (spec pieces accepted).
- Working knowledge of hook structures, retention graphs, and platform-native pacing.
- Ability to self-direct against a weekly output target.
- Affirmation of the TheosU Statement of Beliefs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Camera work: DSLR/mirrorless, lavaliers, lighting setup, and teleprompter operation.
- Motion graphics (After Effects, Motion, or Rive).
- Experience with longer-form video for YouTube or podcast visualizers.
- Familiarity with sermon, lecture, or teaching-style content workflows.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- How to edit for the Instagram algorithm — specifically what it currently rewards and punishes.
- The volume system: how to sustain 5–7 polished Reels per week without sacrificing quality.
- How to coordinate multi-account launches for single content drops.
- How to translate theological teaching into a 30-second hook without losing the substance.
Creative & Content Writing Intern
You’re a writer who reads voraciously — theology and culture, long-form and short-form, Lewis and the internet. You can write a punchy Reel hook at 9am and a 300-word course description at noon. You know when to be funny, when to be reverent, and when to be both at the same time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reel Scripts: Write 5–7 short-form scripts per week — hook, body, and CTA — for Nathan and faculty.
- Instagram Captions: Caption every published Reel and carousel across all TheosU accounts with a voice that’s rigorous, humor-forward, and culturally engaged.
- Carousel Copy: Each carousel is a mini-essay — typically 5–10 slides of tight, teaching-oriented prose.
- ManyChat DM Flows: Write welcome messages, segmentation sequences, voice-note scripts, and upsell copy for core automations.
- Email Sequences: Draft nurture emails, launch emails, trial-expiration emails, and re-engagement emails.
- Web and Long-Form Copy: Landing pages, course descriptions, resource articles, and long-form pieces.
- Brand Voice Guide: Maintain and evolve the TheosU voice and style guide so the whole team writes in one recognizable tone.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A writing portfolio showing range across short-form and long-form.
- Working theological literacy: you know the major historical doctrines and handle hot-button topics responsibly.
- Proven ability to write in someone else’s voice.
- Copy hygiene: clean grammar, ruthless editing, and speed.
- Affirmation of the TheosU Statement of Beliefs and alignment with a conservative evangelical positioning.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Background in Christian publishing, ministry communications, or apologetics writing.
- Experience writing for conversion-oriented channels (email sequences, DM funnels, sales pages).
- Familiarity with Koine Greek or biblical Hebrew at a working level.
- SEO fundamentals and experience with long-form web content.
- A demonstrated voice on your own platforms (Substack, Twitter/X, Instagram, Threads).
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
- How to write Christian content that competes for attention in a noisy feed.
- The full funnel: from a 10-word hook to a 3,000-word email sequence and how they connect.
- How to hold theological rigor and algorithmic performance in the same hand.
- Brand voice development at the systems level.
