Ordination & Licensing at Theos Seminary
You don’t become a minister because someone hands you a certificate. You become a minister because God calls you. Which is why licensing and ordination don’t create a calling… they recognize one.
At Theos Seminary, we take that seriously. We’re not handing out credentials like Halloween candy, and we’re not pretending to be your elder board.
We don’t know your prayer life, your marriage, or whether you showed up to staff meeting on time. That’s for your local church community and leadership to do—true ordination requires actually knowing and vouching for someone, and frankly, we aren't set up to play spiritual police.
What This Is
What This Is Not
How It Works (And How It Doesn't)
We like to keep things simple, transparent, and absurdly efficient:
No Seminary Degree Required
You don’t need a Master’s degree from us (or anywhere else) to be licensed through our network.
No Interviews or Letters of Rec
We aren't going to grill you on a Zoom call or make your best friend write an essay about you.
Doctrinal Alignment is Key
If you agree with our statement of faith, you’re in.
The Fine Print
While we don't do ongoing personal oversight, we will revoke licensing for unrepentant public sin or overt heresy. Keep it orthodox, keep it holy.
The Legal Perks
You get an official card identifying you as a clergy member, legally qualifying you to perform weddings across the USA.
Get Licensed in 3 Easy Steps
Here’s the path from "I'm called" to officially recognized:
Complete Your Spiritual Mapping
We’re just running a routine background check to make sure there’s no active wizardry in your lineage and that you haven't grave-soaked with more than three deceased revivalists this calendar year.
Submit the Ordination Application
Complete the main application confirming your agreement with our core doctrinal tenets and vision.
Get Carded & Go Serve
Once approved, pay your dues, grab your official clergy card, and hit the ground running with full legal credentials to conduct ceremonies.
Simple, Honest Pricing
No hidden subscription traps or bureaucratic nonsense.
